We are thrilled to continue our new series where we share with you a #SmallJoy. This time it’s Mind over Money Matters loves……Travelscoop. What is a #SmallJoy? Well it could be something that brings happiness, makes us smile or makes our lives a bit better, easier or saves us money.

One of our favourite, and most used sites is Travelscoop. We love to travel and definitely make the most of our Air Miles. Often though package holidays work out much cheaper, especially when you find a great deal. When you win your holiday (like our New York win) – that’s the best holiday ever, so we are always looking out for travel competitions. And as a serial planner, I’m a big reader of blogs and information. To Spend Smarter and Travel Smarter, Travelscoop ticks all the boxes.

What is travelscoop ?

Travelscoop is a travel website that  is free,  beautifully laid out, easy to read and no nonsense. The site shares holiday deals at fantastic prices. Plus travel competitions. When you subscribe you get regular emails with all the best deals on travel AND experiences AND travel competitions AND blogs.

Holiday deals The main pull for us is that these aren’t any and every travel deal available. The deals shared are for quality hotels and holidays. Mostly 4 or 5 star hotels with high tripadvisor ratings. Our kids are now grown up and working so we are all able to take holidays at any time. When we see a ‘from’ price we know we can book at that price on the dates offered. We just booked Prague, 2 nights, 4 star hotel £92 pp. The boys booked a  4 star all inclusive week in Zante for £277. It saves us so much time. (And money)

Look at this for an example, search Las Vegas and  you get a selection of offers including multi centre holidays (including New York and LA) the Las Vegas Explorer pass and blogs. There’s a 10 night holiday New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas from £859. That’s crazy, all the flights and hotels. That price is for 30th November which works for us, you can play around with dates though, even £1069 for 18th May when the weather will be perfect everywhere, is fab.

Travel competitions We have won many competitions including some amazing trips to New York, Berlin and London. I use to spend a lot of time finding good competitions to enter. The high end and money can’t buy trips. Original readers will remember we use to have a weekly hand picked travel competitions page where we would share the answers and links to the best travel competitions we could find. Then we found Travelscoop which did exactly the same but better.

The  Travelscoop website shares the pick of the competitions, with links, answers and a fab ‘mark as entered’ heart that means you can keep track – genius. They also have their own exclusive Competitions that you won’t find anywhere else. The best part though is the Facebook group. What a fantastic community, sharing competitions and wins. I try and post any competitions I find on there but often they are already posted! It’s brilliant to see members sharing, winning and thanking others.

The blogs and information pages are a great read – written by some of the best UK Travel Bloggers exclusively for Travelscoop – packed with stories and tips that are both useful and entertaining.

So you see why we have featured Travelscoop in our Mind over Money Matters loves… series.

I contacted Stuart Lewis, one of the Travelscoop founders for a bit of background on this site, this is what he shared.

Travelscoop is a small team of travel and tech-lovers. We had a shared vision of wanting to create a travel deal business with some soul; for it to be genuinely interesting and helpful to travel-lovers and those just looking for a holiday. Our primary purpose is to help our users save money on holidays and travel by identifying and featuring some of the best travel deals, competitions, tips and blogs that we find.

With the industry and world ever-changing we want to remain as current and authentic as possible. And it’s something we haven’t seen many other travel companies like us doing.

Competitions are a great way to help people save money on holidays and travel. We began with our own competitions but saw our website as a way of collating lots of travel comps together and giving travel and comp-lovers the chance to enter and interact more with us. This led to the creation of our Facebook group Travel Competitions UK which has become the largest UK travel competition group on Facebook. There have been more than 250 wins in the group since it was first created in 2018. Wins range from travel products and British hotel breaks to things like weekend European breaks, business class flights, and big luxury holidays to the Maldives, Australia and Utah’s national parks, to name a few.

With Travelscoop’s own competitions we try to think outside the box a bit – it’s all about those luxurious or one-off experiences that people might not otherwise be able to afford or think of treating themselves to. Among our recent comps we’ve given away a safari park bubble stay, Champneys spa break, and Crazy Bear hotel stays. Our latest competition is to win an overnight stay at The Shard’s sky-high Shangri-La Hotel in London. It’s always lovely to be able to make someone’s day, and to see them enjoying their prize.

We’re really passionate about the travel blogging community which is vibrant and strong and this resonates most with our own ethos. Aside from an enormous wealth of tips and advice, bloggers offer something current, ‘real’ and interesting. We wanted to put that alongside our deals and everything else we do to give our users the best possible experience and info.
